Howdy everyone!
On Monday:
I did a soil sample on a new bed the Howdy! Farm has created! We're hoping to starting using that bed soon seeing as we need all the land we can get! (picture on right)
We also started moving some of our potted flowers to the heritage garden of our farm and decided to plant those in the raised beds we have over there! We're hoping they'll flower beautifully and tall!
Wednesday:
We recently ordered glass spices jars, so that we can start drying and bottling our own spices! And the glasses came in today! Now we are just waiting for our dehydrator to come in and we are set to start making some spices for shop hours!
Thursday:
Is our shop hours! Along with an assortment of hot peppers we will be selling, okra, melons, eggplant, bok choy! And one of the SASA members is also selling fermented bed at the market and it sure is scrumptious! Soon we will be selling more of our swiss chard and mustard greens! I also harvested some seeds from dried basil plants so that we can plant for next year. This will save us money and its really cool to recycle the plants we harvest on the farm!

Friday:
I'm really not on the farm on Friday's but today was particularly stressful and I know being outside and doing some hard farm work would make me feel better! We trimmed some of our tomato plants seeing as too many stems and leaves can keep tomatoes from growing in time.
We also raked a new field we are wanting to use for our crops, and Christina (another intern) and I thought about making a scarecrow for the farm! So excited for our new project!
