Hehehehe.
Back to business!
I have been feeling pretty under the weather lately (I think its allergies) so I didn't get a chance to make my normal rounds at the Howdy! Farm on Monday.
But Tuesday...
We have our shop hours! New to our shop hours this week are our nifty Howdy! Farm decals (check image to your right!) They are wayyy cool and only $5! All proceeds go back to the farm so it is truly a wise investment, and they are just too cool. I also did the painful task of sorting our various seeds that we buy or harvest in house! Because recycling is way cool remember?! Now, I am an engineering major so horticulture plant stuff is still very new to me although I have been volunteering with the farm for some time now. I learned to sort the seeds my type, meaning: flowers, herbs, greens, solanacea, root crops and cucurbits! Which I thought was very interesting! Now I still don't know too much about what these fancy words mean, but I truly am trying and will be giving examples of each soon!
Wednesday:
Our beds were looking a little bushy so I took out a lot of weeds... I mean a lot...
On the bright side we finally planted our cilantro! Now, cilantro LITerally grows like a weed, a nice smelly, yummy weed! So you can expect that soon at the market! I also planted a few flowers for our trellis which I believe they were poisonous.. (don't quote me.. don't put in your mouth either.. please) and a variety of radishes, the non poisonous kind! I am a fan of Parks and Rec (get my LITerally reference!!!)
Thursday:
Is our shop hours once again!!!
We sold the last of our butternut squash sadly but soon we will have more produce to sell! Like: peanuts, mustard greens, an assortment of cabbages and lettuce and potatoes. Our dehydrator should also be making its debut at the farm sometime next week and we will be experimenting with our herbs and try to make an assortment of herbal teas!
ATTENTION:
NEW TO OUR SHOP HOURS IS OUR TUESDAYS "NORTHGATE FARMERS MARKET"
CHECK OUT THE COOL PICTURE RIGHT UNDERNEATH THE POST FOR INFORMATION!
It will be every Tuesday from 4-7pm at the A&M United Methodist Churh parking lot.
