Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we had our first few days of classes.
On Tuesday we had a seminar with a presenter from the EU (European Union)
he discussed what he did and his passions for trying to unite the 28 European countries in the EU,
what he did with policies and the science behind the environmental impact in the EU.
Thursday we had our first class field trip where we went to:
De Watergroep main office
and one aquifer in the Champlaine area that De Watergroep operated,
A sink hole near the area,
Grottes de Remouchamps (caverns)
It was actually one of the best field trips I've ever been on!
Hiking up and down the hill to and from the sinkhole was a workout
but the forest the sinkhole was in was gorgeous. And I'd never hiked before!
Seeing how De Watergroep got their drinking water from that specific aquifer
was something I'd never seen done in the states before, and little disinfection/treatment was needed.
The caverns at the Grottes was something else. We were able to take a small boat ride through
the caverns! That's something I'd never be able to do in the states.
(because its prohibited to touch the limestone rocks in the states)we
On Friday we will be going to Basel, Switzerland!
I will post updates on what we do!
